Constantly Monitor Your Web Site(s) and Test
Different Strategies To Increase Web Site Traffic and Increase
Sales
Just because your web site is developed, has full content, has
ads running throughout is and your promoting affiliate programs
and/or products and services, does not mean your job is done and
you can sit back and reap the rewards. A webmasters work is
never done and you should always be thinking of ways to increase
revenues.
You competition is doing this and so should you. You cannot just
sit back and relax because all the work that got you to where
you are today, could be lost if you got too lazy and sloppy. You
didn't work this hard to get where you are to lose it all, did
you? Of course not.
Your Google AdWords account has lots of helpful statistics you
can use to track your PPC campaigns to see if your keywords are
working, how many clicks they're getting etc. You should also
know that more clicks for certain keywords might not be as good
as they appear. If you're using the wrong keywords to get
visitors to your website, you could be throwing good money out
the window. Remember to test slowly so you know when you make
changes, you know if they're working or not. When it come to
tweaking your PPC campaign, a good rule of thumb is to change
one thing and let that go for a few days before trying something
else. This isn't foolproof, but it should be a good indicator of
how things are going.
The other nice thing about Google AdWords is that you can create
up to 6 different ads and Google will keep track of the clicks
on those ads. They will also rotate these different ads so
people searching on google will see different ads. Look at these
numbers. The ones with low click through rates (CTR), should be
changed to try to increase the CTR. Then you should constantly
test these, change them and try to beat your control. Beating
your control is just a term used for your best performing ad.
You goal should always be to beat your control until your happy
with your numbers.
